Samples reviewed by several specialist outlets show names, dates of birth, and optical appointment or session details, with email, phone, and postal address fields present but not consistently filled in. The number of people affected is reported differently across sources (roughly 8,400 to 9,500), and how the data was obtained is not yet known.

Combining an identity, a date of birth, and an appointment history could facilitate targeted phishing attempts impersonating the optician.
