Frontline Education, a US vendor of administration and workforce-management software for school districts, has notified districts of unauthorized access to part of its environment. The company states that on August 14, 2026 it identified a vulnerability in a third-party software product it uses, then fixed it with the help of an independent cybersecurity firm and informed law enforcement. According to a notification letter, the exposed data are district employees' Social Security numbers, email addresses and postal addresses; one district reports 1,210 employees affected.

A Social Security number combined with an address can be used to open credit in someone's name or to impersonate them, and the exposed email addresses make targeted phishing easier.
