Data breach — Moderate

On 17 October 2026, a hacker claimed to have published a database taken from the website of the Grande Loge Féminine de France, a French Masonic body. The claim mentions 987 records, made up of 964 user entries and 23 administrator entries, in two CSV files of about 70 KB. The samples reviewed contain names, e-mail addresses and account identifiers, plus a string resembling a cryptographic hash for one administrator. The figure of 987 people is the hacker's own estimate and the organisation has not commented so far. Membership of a Masonic organisation makes this data particularly sensitive for the people listed.

These data allow a malicious third party to link named individuals to a presumed Masonic affiliation and to target administrators with phishing.

## Exposed data

- Email address
- Full name
- Customer ID
- Password (hashed)

## What you can do

- Change that password — and everywhere you reused it. That is how a leak spreads to your other accounts.
- Turn on two-factor authentication on the affected accounts: a stolen password is then no longer enough.
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
