# Onamae.com Desktop Cloud (GMO Internet)

Data breach — Low

Onamae.com Desktop Cloud, a virtual desktop service operated by GMO Internet in Japan, confirmed on 20 October 2026 that a third party had gained unauthorized access to its infrastructure. Malicious programs were installed in some customers' environments, on up to 26,739 servers according to Bleeping Computer. The service began shutting servers down progressively on 21 October 2026 at 04:00 local time, and all plans are suspended with no restart date. Data stored on the affected servers may have been exposed, but no misuse or leak has been confirmed so far. Payment information, held on separate infrastructure, is not affected. The number of people affected has not been disclosed.

A third party with access to these servers could read the data and secrets, such as passwords, stored on them, and use them for phishing attempts or access to other services.
