Brevo

ModerateConfirmedDigital services

Brevo, a French email marketing and digital communication platform, confirmed that an attacker exploited a flaw in its SAML SSO authentication handling to access 138 client accounts, identified on September 10, 2026 at 6:30 AM UTC. Contact lists were exported from 43 of these accounts, and six compromised accounts were used to send phishing emails to the contacts stored in them. Brevo says it closed the attacker's access path at 8:30 AM UTC the same day and logged out all platform users. Several Brevo customer companies, including firms in the cryptocurrency sector, subsequently reported that their own subscribers had received phishing emails sent through this infrastructure.

The exported email addresses can be reused to target these contacts with phishing campaigns that appear more credible because they originate from legitimate sending infrastructure, as already occurred for subscribers of Brevo's client platforms.

Exposed data

  • Email address
  • Employment data

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
