Salt Mobile SA

HighConfirmedTelecoms

Salt Mobile, a Swiss telecom operator, confirmed a security incident on 11 September 2026 after online allegations of a customer data leak surfaced. The company says its main systems were not breached, but that an existing access to a peripheral system was misused. Data potentially exposed includes names, postal addresses, mobile phone numbers, dates of birth and email addresses; passwords, banking details and order history are not believed to be affected. Salt voluntarily notified Switzerland's Federal Data Protection Commissioner; the exact number of affected customers has not been disclosed.

The combination of name, address, phone number, date of birth and email enables targeted, credible phishing or fraud campaigns.

Exposed data

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Postal address
  • Date of birth

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
