Communauté de communes des Pays de L'Aigle

ModerateConfirmedPublic sector

The Communauté de communes des Pays de L'Aigle, its social action center (CIAS) and its tourism office announced they were victims of a computer intrusion targeting their professional email server during the night of September 14-15, 2026. The compromised access was cut off as soon as the incident was detected, and other servers and software reportedly were not affected. The local authority states that personal, potentially sensitive data may have been stolen, including email addresses and information contained in messages from the affected mailboxes. The number of people affected and the exact nature of the data actually exfiltrated remain under assessment.

Access to the compromised mailboxes could allow a third party to read message content and impersonate the affected services when contacting their correspondents.

Exposed data

  • Email address
  • Other personal data

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
