Master of Malt
ModerateConfirmedRetail
Between September 13 and 17, 2026, an attacker used stolen credentials for the third-party Ribon application (operated by Be A Part Of, a Fastr company) to access shopper data at several BigCommerce-hosted stores, including UK online spirits retailer Master of Malt. BigCommerce confirmed the compromise on September 17 and removed the app. Master of Malt notified its customers and reported the incident to the ICO, stating that exposed data includes names, email addresses, phone numbers and shipping addresses, while passwords and payment data, stored separately, were not affected.
The exposed contact details (name, email, phone, mailing address) could be used for targeted phishing or impersonation attempts against affected customers.

What you can do
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
