A database attributed to the Royal Belgian Racing Pigeon Federation was offered for sale on a cybercriminal forum on 2 October 2026. The seller claims 8,680 licensed pigeon fanciers and more than 3.4 million race results, about 2.1 GB covering the 2019 to 2026 seasons. The member file reportedly includes name, licence number, municipality and the geographic coordinates of the loft. Race results may include information that is already public, and it is not established whether the coordinates were already accessible. The federation has not confirmed the incident so far.
Linking a name to the GPS position of a loft pinpoints where a person keeps their birds, which could be used for targeting or fraudulent solicitation.
