Région Hauts-de-France

ModerateConfirmedPublic sector

Hauts-de-France Region has notified affected individuals of a cyberattack on ATEXO, a company that processes personal data on its behalf. An unauthorised third party was able to access that data. According to the notification, surnames, first names and email addresses are affected. Investigations are continuing, and the Region currently has no evidence that other categories of data are involved. The notification gives neither the date of the intrusion nor the number of people affected.

A name linked to an email address allows a malicious third party to send personalised phishing messages, for example by impersonating the Region or a public body.

Exposed data

  • Full name
  • Email address

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
