IFAPME
CriticalReportedEducation
In February 2026 an attacker claimed to have stolen a database attributed to IFAPME, a Walloon public body for work-based training and for self-employed people and SMEs. It is said to cover more than 700,000 people, including more than 85,000 IBAN numbers. On 4 October 2026 the data was reportedly posted again for free on a dark web forum, after having been offered for sale. According to the source, it includes names, postal and email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, Belgian national register numbers, bank details and administrative data. The number of distinct individuals has not been established, and the organisation has not confirmed the incident in the sources consulted.
Combining an identity, contact details, a national register number and an IBAN can make identity theft, targeted phishing and some bank fraud attempts easier.

What you can do
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- Watch your statements. On any unknown debit, block the card and request a refund — French law (art. L133-18) entitles you to it.
- These documents enable identity theft, and cannot be reissued at will. Keep the notification letter: it proves where the leak came from if an account is opened in your name.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
