Daiichi Kosho
HighConfirmedOther
Daiichi Kosho, operator of the Big Echo karaoke chain, announced on 8 October 2026 that malware had infected a computer belonging to an employee of its contractor Nippon Columbia Group, which handles its personal data. About 8,631,000 customer records and 93,000 employee records may have been exposed: names, genders, dates of birth, email addresses and phone numbers. Passwords are not included. No theft, leak or misuse has been confirmed so far, and the investigation into the cause and scope is ongoing. Customers of BIG ECHO, MEGA BIG, Karaoke CLUB DAM, Banana Club, B-GARAGE and DK Dining may be affected.
These contact details and birth dates could be used for phishing or fraud attempts by email, SMS or phone, made more convincing by the accurate personal information.

What you can do
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
