TrainMe (groupe Decathlon)
CriticalReportedRetail
TrainMe, a sports coaching platform owned by the Decathlon group, notified its users of a security incident at an external software provider in charge of statistical analysis. The unauthorised access was detected, cut off, and the affected environment isolated. The exposed data includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, postal addresses, orders placed on the platform and usage history, as well as health-related constraints on sports practice where users had provided them. TrainMe states that no banking data and no passwords were affected and that its main platform was not breached, but it reset all passwords as a precaution.
The combination of contact details, histories and possible health information lets a malicious party craft targeted phishing messages impersonating TrainMe, a coach or a partner.

What you can do
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- Health data is “special category” data under the GDPR: a leak opens a right to compensation, and the organisation must notify the DPA within 72 hours.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
