A dataset presented as containing 140,080 user profiles from the 42 school network's platform was reported on 9 October 2026. It reportedly includes names, email addresses, home campus, educational information (progression level, grade, curriculum, coalition), a virtual wallet value and references to profile photos. According to FrenchBreaches, a compromised student account would have allowed bulk extraction by scraping, with the access detected and blocked the following day. École 42 has not confirmed the incident so far, and the actual scale remains to be established. The figures count populated fields, not necessarily as many distinct individuals.
Names and email addresses tied to a specific school can be used to target these individuals with credible phishing messages.
