Ecologic France

ModerateReportedIndustry

On 13 October 2026, an individual presenting themselves as a cybercriminal claimed to have released for free a database of 46,467 records attributed to Ecologic France, a French collection and recycling scheme. The archive is about 32 MB. The samples described include first and last names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, SIRET business identifiers and platform login identifiers. They also include fields associated with passwords, whose protection cannot be determined, and information on collection incidents. The records do not necessarily match as many distinct individuals, as some relate to organisations or operations. The claim has not been confirmed by the organisation.

These contact details and business relationships could be used for phishing or to impersonate a usual contact with false administrative or commercial requests.

Exposed data

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Postal address
  • Customer ID
  • Connection data (IP, logs)
  • Employment data
  • Password (hashed)
  • Other personal data

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Change that password — and everywhere you reused it. That is how a leak spreads to your other accounts.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication on the affected accounts: a stolen password is then no longer enough.
  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
