Armurerie Gilles

CriticalReportedRetail

On 17 October 2026, a seller claimed to be offering for sale a database taken from the website of Armurerie Gilles, a French retailer of firearms, ammunition and shooting equipment. The seller states that 35,303 people are affected, mainly in France, with others in Belgium and Switzerland. The published samples contain names, postal addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, internal identifiers, account creation dates and card types with partially masked numbers, covering 2016 to September 2026. These figures come only from the seller: the authenticity of the database and the actual number of people affected are unconfirmed, and appearing in the database does not show that a person owns a firearm.

Contact details linked to an account on a firearms retailer's site could be used for targeted phishing, scam attempts or privacy intrusions.

Exposed data

  • Full name
  • Postal address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Customer ID
  • Banking data (IBAN, card)

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • Watch your statements. On any unknown debit, block the card and request a refund — French law (art. L133-18) entitles you to it.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
